How Long Have You Been Cosplaying? About 5 years, since 2009
Favorite Cosplay you’ve done? The costume I’m most proud of to date is my Bayonetta cosplay. I spent a lot of time working on it and tried many new techniques and it helped me grow as a cosplayer.

How has cosplay helped your creativity as an artist?
Because I love to create things cosplay has been the perfect artistic outlet for my life. I can switch between sewing and prop making, painting and crafting, all in one hobby.
Do you ever get a creative block when building?
I often get a creative block when making costumes because I’ll hit a roadblock if something isn’t working or I don’t know how to approach a project. The other problem can be funding, which affects buying materials.
What’s the most frustrating part about cosplay?
The most frustrating thing about cosplay is when I can’t get a costume right, either the technique didn’t work or something doesn’t fit. It drives me crazy sometimes.
Is there ever a point where you wanted to quit?
Sometimes I think ‘I could have so much more time and money if I didn’t cosplay’ but I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. Every game I play, comic I read, or anime I watch gives me costume ideas and it’s a huge part of my life.
Just how expensive is it to build your average cosplay costume? I know that’s a broad question, give us an average range, excluding epic builds.
A costume that is sewing based I usually spend around $100-$125 to make everything, when doing my armor projects, materials are much more expensive and can range from $150-$250 depending on the size.
How do you deal with inappropriate comments on social media, and do they ever get to you?
I never hesitate to ban and/or delete inappropriate comments, whether they are directed at me or not. I don’t think anyone should be antagonized for doing what they love. I try not to let negative comments get to me, and I try to remember the internet gives people a lot of freedom and allows them to feel safe to troll.
Who’s your favorite cosplayer?
I have so many favorite cosplayers; Li Kovacs is someone who inspires me to do the costumes I want, rather than what others might expect and to stay detail oriented. I look up to Kamui Cosplay a lot and her progress information helped me learn to build armor. Yaya Han is another cosplayer that inspires me to go the extra mile and take the time to make things perfect, even if it’s difficult.
The absolute nerdiest thing about you?
That’s really hard! I guess the most embarrassing thing would be I still write fan fictions and role play lol.
If you could pick one celebrity to cosplay any character, who would it be?
I would want to see Morena Baccarin as Catwoman, perfection!
The average amount of cheesy pick-up lines you get during the week?
Cheesy pick-up lines? On me? Never. I only get classy pick-up lines. (I wish!)
And that’s all she wrote, literally.
Thanks for spending some time with us KCB. She’s as cute as a button and is showing some real potential with her most recent cosplays. Keep up the great work!
